Milk Paint
Our Milk Paint is environmentally safe and non-toxic. There is a slight milky odor when it is applied, but it is completely odorless when dry. The paint is safe for children's furniture and toys. The deep rich colors of Milk Paint authentically reflect those colors found on existing antique furniture and buildings. Modern paints cannot compare with the colors and the texture of the finish for achieving the "old" or "country look" of Colonial or Shaker furniture and interiors. And, like the paints used hundreds of years ago, the colors in our Milk Paint will not fade.
Tips and Techniques
Some folks may prefer a slightly more translucent look to their interior wood surfaces. To allow some of the wood grain to show through the paint, merely mix more water into the milk paint mix, and experiment by testing the mixture on inconspicuous areas or spare wood until you've achieved the desired level of translucency. After painting, allow to dry fully and then brush a clear finish, such as AFM Safecoat's Acrylacq, over the entire surface. This will lock in the color and appearance, making it washable and impervious to water spots and stains.
