Sorry, we no longer offer this product!

Due to erratic supply, we are no longer offering Power Logs, BioBricks or Night Logs. Here are some other places that you might try. (We have no affiliation with them; we just know they have sold these products in the past.)

Night Logs are compressed hard wood sawdust (from New England and Eastern Canadian mills) for use in fireplaces and wood stoves. They come in easy to handle 8-pound logs, packaged in 4 log bundles. Night Logs are designed for long, slow burning at night in wood stoves and fireplaces. They are more difficult to light than the standard Biobrick and are usually placed onto an already burning fire, though they need not be. They burn approximately 6–9 hours.

Why use Night Logs instead of conventional cord wood? Here a few good reasons:

  • Night Logs are guaranteed to come dry which means you can store them inside without bugs, ants, mold and mildew issues.
  • Night Logs are made from reclaimed wood waste from New England saw mills, making them an environmentally conscious fuel source.
  • Night Logs burn cleaner, hotter and longer than cord wood.  This means less creosote build-up, less ash cleaning, less stove loading and less pollution

Dimensions of one log: 4"  x 13"

Safety Warning:  DO NOT FILL your wood stove with Night Logs!  Instead, only fill it half way.

Night Logs are 2 and a half times denser than cordwood and have less than half the moisture.  This means that there is a lot more energy per volume.  If you fill your wood stove with Night Logs, you risk overheating.  This has serious consequences, depending on the make and model of your wood stove and the details of your installation.

For safety reasons, never fill your wood stove more than half full of Night Logs unless you are able to monitor the entire burn.  It's a good idea to try your first burn with just a couple Night Logs.  Place them in the already burning fire and let them light from the coals.  They will gradually burn for 6–9 hours.
