Soil Saver Composter with Base

Choose this easy-to-use compost bin if you want a place to stash kitchen scraps, but aren't in a hurry to make compost. Open the lid, toss in your kitchen or yard waste, cover with a layer of dried leaves, sawdust, shredded paper or any other dry organic material, then let nature take its course. This "digester" style of compost bin creates humus from the ground up.

We advise customers to expect results in about a year. If you can't wait that long, it is possible to use a compost aerator to mix the materials. But if you're really impatient, you may want to upgrade to a tumbling bin or build your own classic "three pile" set up that you can turn with a pitch fork. On their own, digesters take their own sweet time to allow materials to settle and break down with the help of worms and other soil organisms.
